It seems everyone these days is attracted towards simplicity. This sentiment is certainly present in our modern music industry: All songs seem to be in 4/4 and the lyrics sound like they've been written by a 3rd grader with Downs syndrome. (And no, T-Pain, "mansion" does not rhyme with "Wisconsin")
I'll admit that I'm generalizing, and some pop songs show signs of actual musicianship. However, it is safe to say that most songs on KIIS FM are like the ones described above. I don't like the path our modern music is heading. Where are we going to draw the line with things such as auto-tune? Nowadays, it's possible to be a platinum artist without any real musical ability or prowess.

Protest the Hero
They came out with a new song today. C'est La Vie. Took a couple listens, but its an incredible song. Great buildup and ending. I like where this album is headed.
